Neighborhood Forest Tree Giveaway

The trees are here! Please read carefully as there has been a slight change in plans-
Due to the condition of the Quaking Aspens we originally planned to giveaway, we have ordered an additional tree option - Balsam Fir, which are available beginning Monday, April 20th. Quaking Aspen are still available as well.

Trees are available on a first come, first served basis to patrons that registered for a free tree. There will be no extra trees available. We recommend picking up your tree asap to ensure it's health. Trees will be available through Wednesday, April 22nd. Please stop in during regular library hours.

Thank you to Neighborhood Forest for the quick attention to this matter and for partnering with us to offer free trees to area children!
Please read the message below from Neighborhood Forest.
"We’ve seen an influx of inquiries & concerns regarding our Aspen trees.
Quaking Aspens are a bit more sensitive to transport and transplant than some other species.
It’s not uncommon to see leaves with brown spots, especially after their journey from the nursery while packaged in a box. They’re just a bit stressed from travel. This is quite normal for Quaking Aspens.
Rest assured, if you can gently bend the stem and it does not break, your tree is alive and well!
Your tree should recover over time. The spotted leaves may wither and fall, but new growth should emerge once they’re planted and given some love, sun, water, and time.
Thank you so much for helping us grow the forest!"
